Our story

A friend, who is recognized as one of the most reputable executives in Silicon Valley, told us once that the unemployed in the valley used to call themselves consultants and now they call themselves venture capitalists and accelerators. When it comes to creating ventures, it sometimes seems like every one is an expert!!!

We started Biogress to change the biotech venture creation game. We experienced innovative talent being wasted by money men and market-transforming ideas being wasted by incapable management teams and unsuccessful operating models. We also experienced a wholesale approach to venture capital and incubation where one VC partner manages a number of ventures without committing enough time, energy and personal attention to any single venture.

In our value system, a differentiated value proposition and a successful execution of a profitable operating model are corner stones of venture creation and acceleration. Biogress founder and managing partner, Ghassan Nino, has a proven track record creating and growing ventures. He has more than 15 years of proven experience delivering measurable value to clients, partners, investors and employees. Over the last three years, Ghassan started and successfully built three innovative and successful ventures and has negotiated and closed deals and partnerships with leading US academic and medical institutions. As a founder, former chairman and CEO of Hemobiotech Inc., Ghassan took the company from an idea stage into a leading global developer of the worlds’ first safe and effective blood substitute. He is a CPA, CMA and MBA and has held senior level management positions with Andersen Consulting and Deloitte Consulting. Ghassan is currently investing in bioinformatics and biopharmaceuticals.

The Biogress team consists of nine senior level directors and associates offering a unique blend of proven scientific, business, legal, technical, and financial expertise.
